Drew Barrymore talks wedding plans on ‘Today Show’

It seems newly engaged Drew Barrymore is still pinching herself after fiancé Will Kopelman popped the question.

The bride to be told Good Morning America that she is just enjoying the moment before beginning to plan her big day.

The 36-year-old actress said that when it comes to the daunting task of making arrangements, she is ‘just trying to figure it out’.

She told the chat show host Robin Roberts: ‘I think everyone expects you to kind of know right away what all the plans are.

‘And I’m like, oh goodness, it just happened a month ago. Do I not have it together, or is it okay to keep daydreaming?’

But one thing the Going The Distance star is sure of is how positive her new fiancé makes her feel.

She gushed: ‘I root for his happiness and people’s happiness. You know, this is a really positive story and it’s just a positive time. I like positivity, I’m a sucker for it.’

She showed off her enormous diamond ring, which weighs in at just less than 4 carats, and could barely keep a smile off her face as she was interviewed on the show.

And Robin pointed out that she was sporting her fiancé’s watch, describing the sweet gesture as ‘real love’.

Drew was appearing on the talk show to promote her latest movie, Big Miracle, which is based on a true story.

Will proposed marriage during a romantic Christmas getaway to Sun Valley in Idaho.

And E.T. star Drew spoke out about her delight to InStyle magazine earlier this month.

She said of her beau: ‘He’s lovely. He’s very, very nice. It’s really positive. I’m super happy.’

She added of their life: ‘It’s just the best! We go on group trips and spend holidays together – there’s a lot of love!

‘And that is really nice and very different from the way I grew up, which was more unstable and inconsistent, with a lot of highs and lows

‘It’s funny, when I was younger, I used to say I’d hate a flat line – that I want the ups and the downs, the roller coaster. But I’m actually really enjoying the flat line.’

It will be Drew’s third marriage.

She wed Welsh bar owner Jeremy Thomas in March 1994, but the pair split after just one month.

Drew tied the knot again in 2001 to comic Tom Green, but the marriage was also short-lived, lasting only five months.

It’s been a big month for her thus far, as Drew Barrymore just announced her engagement and also finds herself featured on the cover of the February 2012 issue of InStyle.

The 36-year-old actress adorns the publication’s front page while clad in white Max Mara dress and Tiffany & Co. earrings, with the accompanying skateboard-themed spread having been shot by photographer Andreas Sjodin.

On her wish that she lessen the pace of life:
“I would love to slow things down a bit. We’re living in a time when we have such expectations of immediacy. Everything is instantaneous, everything’s out there.”

On time with her fiancé Will Kopelman:
“It’s just the best! We go on group trips and spend holidays together – there’s a lot of love! Drew Barrymore Releases Engagement Announcement Photos

The “Wedding Singer” star is confirming reports she accepted a proposal from her handsome art consultant boyfriend Will Kopelman.

Her rep even shared a photo of the happy couple sitting in a sunny garden with Barrymore’s giant diamond engagement ring front and center.

Kopelman, 34, popped the question during a romantic trip to Sun Valley, Idaho, around the holidays, Us Weekly was the first to report.

Barrymore, 36, started marking red carpet appearances with Kopelman last February.

The “Going the Distance” actress, who has spoken openly about her bisexuality in the past, reportedly is ready to settle down and start a family.

“(She’s) yearning to get married and have kids,” an unnamed source told Us Weekly in October.

“He’s madly in love and knows she’s the one,” the source said of Kopelman.

Kopelman’s dad Arie Kopelman is the former head of Chanel USA.

Barrymore’s recent exes include actor Justin Long and The Strokes drummer Fabrizio Moretti, who is rumored to be dating “Saturday Night Live” hottie Kristen Wiig.

A marriage to Kopelman would mark Barrymore’s third trip down the aisle.

The former child star wed Hollywood bar owner Jeremy Thomas in March 1994 after just six weeks of dating. She filed for divorce less than two months later.

Her second marriage to comedian Tom Green followed a harrowing fire at their Beverly Hills home in 2001. Green filed for divorce after five months.

A Barrymore spokeswoman did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
